CEC's Professional Development Workshop Forum
The demands on today’s communications professionals are greater than ever before. Communications practitioners are required to move effortlessly from task to task often without the requisite human or financial support. In recognition of this difficult working environment, the CEC has designed an innovative approach to enhance its tried and tested professional development programs.
The CEC’s most popular professional development workshops will include an exciting new twist. Participants registered for a specific workshop will be encouraged to recommend topics and/or content to be included in the workshop design and delivery. Each workshop registrant will be able to suggest content ideas up to ten working days prior to the delivery of the workshop. And, therefore, workshops will become even more responsive to participant learning needs. All workshop registrants will be able to review and build on each other’s ideas and suggestions in an on-line openspace forum designated for the planned workshop participants.
Minimally, CEC workshop instructors will design and deliver 25% of the workshop sessions based on the ideas received from the registrants. And in some instances, workshops will reflect entirely the ideas and suggestions made by the registrants. Nevertheless, all workshops will include content that reflects the core competencies considered to be essential to the successful delivery of the professional development field of study.
I encourage you to join with us in making your professional development opportunities more responsive, more engaging and more focused on your needs and those of today’s communications practitioners.
